View from the 7th Floor

This view was inspired by the amazing sunsets and sunrises that can be viewed from the 7th floor of the Civic Centre in the heart of the city.Looking over toward the distant Lakeland fells the scene was almost tonal. The red sandstone of the city became an abstract muted grouping of yellows, sienna and browns, similar to George Hendrik Breitner and was in sharp contrast to the rich tones of the sky.
