Port Carlisle

The long hot summer of 2018 led to some wonderful hazy sunny days usually only found when we go abroad. The old and long disused Port of Carlisle from which the village gets its name was basking in the hot summer sun.

The Solway itself was unusually serene reflecting the sky in its normally grey waters. Situated on a lonely and remote part of the English coastline, once the border between two warring kingdoms, the Village now looks peacefully across to the Scottish coastline.p>
