Moody day on Ullswater

Inspired by a walk on Askham fell above Pooley Bridge. This is one of our favourite walks and I have painted this scene before and will many times I imagine

The day was pretty dark and moody but every now and again Jacobs Ladders, shafts of sunlight would stab down to illuminate the fells on the right. Even on the darkest day Ullswater never lets you down..
